HOW TRAIN TO GAIN WORKS
Train to Gain will help you identify the right level of training needed in your organisation. This can be done over the telephone or through a dedicated Skills Broker.STEP 1
Identify the skills required in your organisation.Based on a clear understanding of the work of your organisation and its goals, your Skills Broker will work with you to carry out a free review and analysis of the learning needs. These needs could be based on the sort of service you offer such as the organisational management of your organisation including financial or people management and planning skills. The Skills Broker will assess the existing skills of your staff and volunteers, and identify any that might be needed in the future.
Step 2
Identify the right trainingYour Skills Broker will make training and development recommendations based on the skills analysis outlined in Step 1. They will identify the type of training that best suits your organisation’s needs, determine what (if any) qualifications might be of benefit to people, discuss with you how the training can be delivered to suit your needs, and suggest potential providers.
Step 3
Find funding availableYour Skills Broker will explain to you all the funding options available and will recommend the best ways of funding your training. Some funding is available through Train to Gain itself. Funding options for training change quickly and some are locally specific. The main funding options direct through Train To Gain are outlined later on.
Step 4
Tailoring your training packageBased on the discussion in Step 2, once you have decided upon any training you would like to take up your Skills Broker will make referrals to the relevant learning providers of your choice.
Step 5
Review the progress you are makingYour Skills Broker will be available to provide continued support, ensuring that providers have been in touch, working with you to review how your training is progressing, and discussing what other needs for learning or business and support your organisation may have as you and your organisation move forward.
Your Skills Broker can also signpost you to other relevant forms of organisational support eg marketing, finance, legislative requirements.
